We dream of healthy waters for athletes and for nature

Natural aquatic ecosystems are under increasing pressure worldwide, mostly from pollution, habitat loss, overfishing, invasive species and climate change.

According to WWF, freshwater populations are in the most critical condition, experiencing the steepest decline of all ecosystems. The Living Planet Report highlights that freshwater species have suffered an 85% decline over the past 50 years.

Lakes, rivers and marine ecosystems are not only vital ecological systems but also serve as venues for triathlon and open water swimming events.
Most of us have experienced swimming
in polluted water — something we would
rather avoid. For many living beings, this water is their home.

Athletes for Natural Waters Foundation works to protect aquatic ecosystems, that we share our swim course with.

Events

Our events bring people together to experience the beauty of nature, learn about local ecosystems, swim alongside professional athletes, and participate in hands-on volunteer work in the field. Follow us to stay up to date with our upcoming events!

Projects

Sport and nature conservation share the same goal: protecting clean, natural waters where athletes can swim safely and aquatic life can thrive. We believe that closer cooperation between these fields would benefit everyone. We aim to foster partnerships where race organizers, local authorities, and nature conservationists work together to protect natural waters.
